Following stressful live events, the client wanted to create a garden that was beautiful, calm and relaxing which looks good all year round particularly from the seating space and the key views from the within the house. The client wanted a Japanese themed courtyard.
The existing garden was awkward to navigate, sloping and unwelcoming, with tall boundary walls, leading to a sense of being ‘hemmed in’.
The garden is now easy to navigate with include a paved routes to allow for exploration and pottering as well as functioning well for the bin removal and storage
The design deals with the sloping site, allowing the client to move comfortably around the site. A level sitting and entertaining terrace with gentle steps, with bespoke pergola, creating eyecatching tableau from the house with highly planted, contemporary, Japanese themed beds, with specimen trees.
